I always thought I'd go into linguistics if I never did acting, but dialects are the perfect mix of linguistics and performance.

I took a class at Western that focused on IPA, speech sounds, and the exploration of articulation through various dialects and it was like a switched was flipped in my brain. I later TA'd for that class, and was asked to assist in dialect coaching for Street Scene, which is a GREAT introductory show with a measly 9 dialects to teach so yeah it was a really chill time.
